Mike joined Foundry as its founding CEO in October 2019. Foundry focuses on empowering decentralized infrastructure with over 170 employees and runs the largest Bitcoin mining pool in the world. Previously, Mike concentrated on business development at Core Scientific, which is now North America’s largest cryptocurrency miner and hosting company. He was the President and COO of Savage IO, a small, Western NY-based 3MW mining company. Mike has spent the last 6 years navigating the large-scale mining space, building strong relationships with key industry participants. Before his pivot into the crypto industry, Mike was an operational and commercial executive for manufacturing and distribution firms for more than two decades, often serving at the behest of private-equity backers. Mike started his career at GE. In 2007, Mike and his wife, Lisa, co-founded the Clairebear Foundation, a non-profit that supports families with sick children. Mike graduated in 1996 from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and an MBA in Corporate Finance.

As CFO, Licia is responsible for Foundry’s financial accounting, reporting and business analysis. She has held senior operations and financial roles at global manufacturing firms and in startup environments. Having experienced several M&A cycles at those businesses, Licia has integrated systems and business processes across firms. Licia began her career at E&Y, as an external auditor, and holds undergraduate degrees in accounting and computer science. Licia is based in Foundry’s Rochester office, but has a couple reasons, in addition to seeing her DCG colleagues, to visit the Big Apple: one of her sons lives in Manhattan and she’s a baseball fan.

Doug joined Foundry in May 2022. Before joining Foundry, Doug co-founded Upstate Interactive (acquired), where he served as a lead operator and smart contract architect and engineer. Over the course of six years, he and his founding partners built Upstate Interactive into a multimillion dollar services company with 25 employees. Prior to Upstate Interactive, Doug led a smart home consumer IoT startup out of New York City. Before doing so, Doug was an Information Security Engineer at MITRE, a renowned federally funded research and development center. Doug holds a Master’s degree in Information Security and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, both from Syracuse University. Beyond his professional pursuits, Doug enjoys spending quality time with his family, engaging in activities like running, playing golf, and hosting a weekly poker game with friends.

Joe joined Foundry in March 2023 as Chief Security Officer (CSO). In this role, Joe is responsible for both information and physical security. Prior to joining Foundry, Joe held executive-level security positions at Excellus BCBS and Paychex in addition to his experience as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. Joe enjoys finding win-win solutions to allow the business to achieve all goals while also managing appropriate levels of risk to the organization. He holds several advanced information security certifications such as the ISC2 CISSP and ISACA CISM. Joe lives in Rochester, NY with his family, where you can find him enjoying the outdoors or playing video games—and cheering on the NY Yankees and NY Giants.

Juri joined Foundry in March 2021. He comes from Fidelity Investments, where he spent 8 years, most recently as the Director of Bitcoin Mining, building and managing the company’s self-mining operation. Prior to that he held research, strategy, and product management roles at Blockchain Incubator within Fidelity Center for Applied Technology. Before that he worked in Fidelity’s internal management consulting unit working on the most strategic projects for the firm’s senior leadership, including the Bitcoin/Blockchain strategy project in 2015. Juri graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics.

Ryan has been with Foundry since February 2022, leading financial risk and corporate development. Ryan has 20 years of experience in financial markets, working in various capacities throughout his career. Most recently, he was with Koch Minerals and Trading, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, working as an Operations Director and Bitcoin trader. Ryan brings years of operational and risk experience in equity and derivatives markets.

MK has over 25 years of experience in establishing strategic global supply chain strategies and manufacturing/distribution operations for several PE Portfolio companies such as Saxco International, LLC., Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc., and VWR International, Inc. He has also held positions of increasing responsibilities at other multinational corporations such as Textron, Inc., GE, and Alcoa. MK was most recently VP, Supply Chain and Operations, Arnott Performance division at Arnott, LLC. Prior to that, he was an Operating Partner with Forsyth Advisors offering Senior Level Strategic Sourcing expertise to middle market companies. MK is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Bangalore University, India. He has a Master’s in Manufacturing Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a graduate of the Textron Global Leadership Forum from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a certified Six Sigma Master Black-belt from GE. MK’s hobbies include hiking, reading and cooking. He resides with his wife in Orange County, California.

Andrea joined Foundry in January 2020 as the Director of Operations. She oversees daily business activities and ensures key deliverables are appropriately defined across the team, leadership and external stakeholders. Andrea got her start in crypto at Savage IO, a small mining facility in Western NY, where she closely supported Mike Colyer in his role as President and COO. Previously, Andrea held a variety of marketing and branding positions, primarily supporting a global life science business for 9+ years. She began her career as a chemist at Eastman Kodak. Andrea is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Rochester Institute of Technology. A Rochester native, she’s excited to share her hometown secrets with colleagues new to the area and continue to tap local universities for top talent.

Stephanie is responsible for the HR function at Foundry including helping acquire talent for our growing busines and supporting the engagement and culture efforts. Stephanie is an experienced HR professional who has worked for large corporate organizations across many industries, as well as small family-owned businesses and start-ups. Stephanie never liked the saying, “It’s not personal; it’s business.” She believes when you deal with human beings, it’s always personal. To the extent that she can help companies convey positive and engaging messages and be part of cultivating a work environment that people are excited to be a part of, she feels she is doing business with purpose. Stephanie is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial & Labor Relations. Stephanie lives in Rochester, NY with her family.

Khurram is responsible for advising Foundry’s leadership team on legal, compliance and regulatory matters. He is an experienced attorney in both the corporate leadership and law firm settings, with a demonstrated history of advising legal and business stakeholders of public and Fortune-ranked companies grow and sustain their value. Khurram began his career at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP as an associate in the Corporate & Securities department, after earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and Juris Doctor from Pace Law School. In his spare time, you will find Khurram watching basketball, exercising, or spending time with his family.

Kevin is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Foundry’s mining services. Since entering the crypto mining industry in 2014, Kevin has built large-scale bitcoin mining facilities, and worked closely with mining equipment manufacturers, mining pools, and datacenter operators. He held senior positions overseeing mining operations at Greenidge Generation and Bitcoin.com. Kevin started his career at Ford Motor Company, after studying finance, international business, and Chinese at Indiana University. An avid gamer, Kevin credits World of Warcraft with sparking his interest in digital currencies.

As VP of Engineering, Kseniya leads a team that is building best-in-class staking infrastructure in order to provide staking to institutions for many different protocols, including Ethereum. Before Foundry, Kseniya and her co-founders started and ran Upstate Interactive, a web3 consultancy that built applications on Ethereum. Kseniya is passionate about increasing diversity in the tech space and has been part of several organizations that educate, promote, and empower women. She’s a member of Meta Gamma Delta, a DAO focused on raising funds for women-led projects in the blockchain space.

Kyle joined foundry as Director of Public Policy in the Fall of 2021. He has held a variety of Federal and State Government positions, most recently working as Special Advisor for State Operations in the New York State Executive Chamber. Prior to his role in NY State government, Kyle spent most of his career serving as a US Intelligence Officer, which was preceded by a diplomatic post as Advisor to the Special Envoy for Guantanamo Bay Closure at the State Department. He is a former White House Fellow, during which time he worked across different national security and federal budgeting roles in the Obama Administration. Over the course of his career, he has lived and/or worked in over sixty countries and continues to bring Foundry’s forward-looking mission to the forefront of domestic and international affairs. He holds two Masters’ degrees in International Affairs and Public Health from Columbia University

Nick Lane joined Foundry as a Director of Business Development in January 2022 and is responsible for providing white glove service to Foundry’s clients. He comes from the University at Buffalo, where, for the previous 9 years, was an Associate Director in Corporate and Foundation Relations. In that role, Nick built the university’s sponsorship program, and worked with hundreds of businesses and corporations to build partnerships that raised money for the university. Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University, and a master’s degree in Philosophy from the University at Buffalo. Outside of work, Nick’s passion is pinball. He’s a collector, competitive player, and operates games on location in Buffalo.

James joined Foundry in April 2021 as, Customer Success Lead, helping bridge the gap between sales and support across Foundry’s business lines and nurture current customer relations. In January 2022 James was promoted to Manager, Customer Success to oversee and develop the Customer Success department at Foundry. Prior to joining Foundry, James worked in the HCM software space as a SaaS Account Executive for private, public and VC funded startup organizations. James is a graduate of St. John Fisher College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. James resides in Avon, NY with his wife and son where he enjoys working outside, visiting local craft breweries, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills in his free time.

As Business Development Manager, Lindsay focuses on sales and nurturing relationships with Site Operations clients. Prior to moving into a business development role, she paved the way for the rotational Leadership Development Program here at Foundry, gaining exposure to marketing, HR, sales, business development/strategy, and product. Lindsay is a graduate of Notre Dame, where she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing, was captain of the swim team, and holds distance freestyle records. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her sisters, painting, and taking on new art projects.
